Enjoy playing
while you're learning

Not scales to a metronome, but the songs you love from the very first day. Plug in your guitar and the tone is already there: Soundlane gives it clean, overdrive or distortion straight from the tab, hears every note you play, and the rest of the band plays along with you.

No signup. No install. Your audio never leaves your device.

Get better by playing, not by grinding

Soundlane is a practice tool for anyone with a real guitar who wants to get better by playing. No lecture videos, no scales to a metronome, no theory homework: you pick a song you love, play it on your own instrument, and the app hears every note and shows what landed and what slipped.

🌱Picking it up

First guitar, first chords. Learn mode walks you through a song at whatever tempo you can handle, and built-in exercises (spiders, scales, chords) get your fingers moving before you jump into a track.

🔁Coming back to it

The guitar has been in the corner for a few years. Load a track you love and you're playing it tonight, with the app pointing at the spots your hands forgot.

🔥Already playing

You know your way around the neck. Bring your own tabs, push the tempo and chase a clean score on timing, bends and sustain. Guitar or bass, in any tuning.

Three steps to jam

If you have a guitar and a tab you love, you're 30 seconds away.

1

Open a song

Start with the song that ships with the app, or drop in your own Guitar Pro file (.gp3 / .gp4 / .gp5 / .gp / .gpx) and play the tab online. All instruments come along: drums, bass and keys become your backing band.

2

Hit play

Fret-number gems ride the six-string highway toward the strike line. Slow a hard passage down or speed it up as you learn.

3

Play. For real.

Play your actual guitar, through a cable or straight into the mic. You hear yourself back amped in the song's own tone, while an on-device neural network scores your timing and accuracy live.

All you need

For beginners and for players

Not another tap-the-screen game. Soundlane only counts what your instrument actually says.

🔊Your tone, out of the box

Plug in with a cable or just play into the mic: Soundlane hands your guitar back amped. Clean, overdrive and distortion switch by themselves, exactly where the tab says, even mid-song. No pedals, no amp, nothing to set up. Already playing through your own rig? Switch it off in one click.

🎸Guitar or bass

Acoustic, electric or bass, chords or single notes: if your input hears it, Soundlane scores it. The highway adapts to your strings, and any tuning the tab asks for comes with it.

🧠Neural-network ears

A neural network hears what sounded, an attack detector catches exactly when you struck it. Both run inside your browser, so what counts is what your instrument really played.

🎯Graded note by note

No blunt hit-or-miss. Every note is rated on timing, intonation, how long you held it and how hard you struck it, so a bend that stopped short or a sustain you cut early actually shows.

🥁The vibe of a real band

Songs keep all their instruments. Drums, bass and keys play behind you through the same neural amp models and a real recorded cabinet, tempo changes and all. It isn't a MIDI backing track, it's the vibe of a real rehearsal with you playing your part in it.

📚Learn mode & exercises

Work through a song at your own pace with per-note feedback, then chase a high score in Play mode. Built-in exercises get your fingers warm first: spiders, scales and chords at any tempo, for guitar or bass.

🎚️Tuner on board

A full tuner is one tap away: guitar or bass, automatic or string by string, with a live readout in cents. It picks up the song's own tuning, so a drop-D tab tunes you to drop D.

🔒Private by design

All audio processing happens in your browser. Your playing is never uploaded, recorded or stored anywhere.

🌐Zero friction

Runs in the browser you already have. No account, no download, no ads. Mobile apps are on the way.

Warm up with exercises

Soundlane doubles as a guitar practice app. Built-in exercises run at any tempo, for guitar or bass, and are scored exactly like a song. Take a track apart note by note in Learn mode, then chase the score in Play mode.

  • Spiders for finger independence
  • Scales across the whole neck
  • Chord changes, open and barre
  • Any tempo, guitar or bass

FAQ

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and play. Your songs and progress are stored locally in your browser. Accounts with cloud sync will be an option, never a requirement.

Do I need pedals, an amp or a modeller?

No. Soundlane amps your guitar for you: it takes the channel from the tab (clean, overdrive or distortion) and switches it mid-song, through neural amp models and a real recorded cabinet. You simply hear a guitar tone that fits the song. And if you already play through a rig you love, turn the built-in amp off and use your own.

Cable or microphone?

Both work. A microphone needs nothing extra at all. A jack through an audio interface gives a cleaner signal, a louder monitor, and lets you play through headphones at high gain.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. Note recognition runs entirely on your device, inside the browser. The microphone stream never leaves your machine.

Which tab formats are supported?

Guitar Pro 3–5 files (.gp3, .gp4, .gp5) plus the modern Guitar Pro 6–8 formats (.gpx and .gp).

Does it work with an acoustic guitar?

Yes. Any guitar a microphone can hear works. No audio interface or special cable required.

How much does it cost?

Soundlane is free. A Pro tier (cloud sync, stats, deeper practice tools) is planned, and early supporters will get founder pricing.

How is it different from Rocksmith or Guitar Hero?

Same highway idea, but Soundlane listens through the input you already have, so it is a Rocksmith alternative with no Real Tone cable, no console and no plastic controller. Any acoustic or electric guitar and a browser is enough, it amps your guitar for you, and you bring your own Guitar Pro tabs instead of buying song packs.
